Mr. Farrar was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church, Avon, and was a native of Nelson County. He had lived in Washington for the past 18 years and was employed by the Railway Express. Mr. Farrar was a member of the District Moose Lodge.
Born March 28, 1904, in Nelson County, Mr. Farrar was a son of the late Samuel Thomas and Lillie Myrtle Critzer Farrar.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Roxie Dodd Farrar; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Woodruff, Detroit, Mich.; one son, Henry T. Farrar Jr., Maryland; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Goodwin, Mrs. Etta Craun and Mrs. Clara Bush, all of Waynesboro; and Mrs. Russia Dodd, Afton; six brothers, Ollie F. Farrar and Robert A. Farrar, both of Afton; Carroll V. Farrar, Richmond; Harry S. Farrar, Luray; J. Paul Farrar, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Clarence H. Farrar, Clifton Forge; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will arrive in Waynesboro Tuesday evening and will remain at the Etter Funeral Home. Body will be placed in the Hebron Baptist Church one hour prior to the service. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m Wednesday by the Rev. Grafton E. Keeney, assisted by Dr. Julian H. Pentacost. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Page Harris, Henry Cook, Buster Critzer, Clyde Anderson, Willie Farrar and Frank Kerby.
Honorary bearers will be nieces and nephews.
