Julia Begole McLachlen grew-up in a prominant old Huguenot family from New York and Michigan. She began keeping the McLachlen and Begole family tree inside their family bible which was lost. The McLachlen bible was later found in a bookstore and returned to her family descendants. Julia was a younger sister of US Representative and Michigan State Governor Josiah W. Begole.
