LeRoy LaFontaine, 68, of Bagley, Minnesota died on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN with Pastor Todd Klemme Officiating. Interment will be at the Bagley City Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by the Irvin Blix American Legion Post #16 of Bagley, MN.
LeRoy was born on October 28, 1952 in Bagley, MN the son of Donald and Adeline (Holweger) LaFontaine. LeRoy grew up in Emerado, ND where he attended elementary school until moving to Larimore, ND where he graduated from Larimore High School in 1970. LeRoy entered the United States Army in 1971 and was honorably discharged in 1974. After the Army LeRoy farmed for awhile and then opened LA’s Bar & Grill in Mentor, MN from 1974-1976. He operated the Shevlin Standard Station for about a year before returning to farming from 1977-1980. LeRoy held many jobs before retiring in 2014 due to health reasons.
LeRoy enjoyed collecting used items, adored animals and loved getting together to visit with family and friends.
