He was born June 26, 1887, at Reinert, Russia, a son of the late Gottlieb and Elizabeth Goebel Kunstmann. On Feb. 5, 1909, he married Mary Weiman, of Schaefer, Russia. The couple came to Sheboygan in 1912.
Mr. Kunstmann was employed at the Kohler Co. for 18 years, until 1937. He then operated a farm near Tisch Mills (Manitowoc County) until 1949, and then moved to Two Rivers, where he was employed at Mirro Aluminum Company until his retirement in 1965.
He and his wife then returned to Sheboygan. Mrs. Kunstmann died April 21, 1977.
Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Christ (Emily) Kober, of Cecil, Wis., Mrs. Edward (Frieda) Deprey, Mrs. Raymond (Pauline) Kornely, and Mrs. Melvin (Marie) Hoppe, of Two Rivers, and Mrs. Ivan (Clara) Reynolds, of Sheboygan; five sons, Gottlieb, Jr., Adolph and Emil, of Two Rivers, John, of Whitelaw, and Elmer, of Lakeland, Fla.; 23 grandchildren, and 39 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ballhom Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Lester Bischoff, area Lutheran institutional chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
