US Congressman. He was the president of the Dwight Farm & Land Company, New York and was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1888, 1892, 1900, 1904 and 1920. In 1902, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-seventh Congress, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Representative George W. Ray and was reelected to the five succeeding Congresses, serving until 1913. He became president of the Virginia Blue Ridge Railway Company in 1913 and remained in position until his death.
