Leona (Trisdale) Asberry was born in 1882 in Gainesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of Marlin Trisdale and Ann (Stockton) Trisdale. Raised and educated in Gainesboro, she moved to Davidson County about 1910.
She was married 1st to -- -- , and she was married 2nd about 1909 to John Wesley Asberry (ca 1891-1962).
A member of Bell's Bend Church of Christ and living on Antioch Pike off Rural Route 4 in rural Nashville, Leona was 68 years old, a widow and diabetic when she went into a diabetic coma and died on May 19, 1950 in a Nashville nursing home at 802 Monroe Street.
Survivors included daughters Mrs Robert Collins of Hermitage, Tennessee and Mrs Willie Jones of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, sons Albert Asberry of Hermitage and Cordell Asberry, Cecil Asberry and John Lee Asberry of Nashville, several half-sisters and brothers and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held on May 21st at Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
