Ruby "Charlene" Grigg, 86, of Kingston, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2021.

She was born May 25, 1935, on Sweden Creek, south of Kingston, to Eddie and Roxie Smith Cook.

Charlene was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law, friend, sister and neighbor. She married Bill Grigg, Dec. 27, 1954, in Springdale by Bill's Uncle John Grigg. They moved to California and lived there four years and until Gary was two years old. They moved back to Kingston, Ark. Here they were partners in the McCollough & Son store, which later became Grigg & McCollough. They were married for 64 years. She was a local historian, story writer, merchant, artist, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a member of Kingston Regular Baptist Church. She loved the library, genealogy, arts and crafts, crocheting, oil painting, quilting, sewing, and many other things.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Roxie Smith Cook; the love of her life, Billy Lewis Grigg; and two brothers, Bobby Ray Cook and Dwayne Cook.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Luann Grigg of Metalton; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Nick Peyrot of Kingston; four grandchildren, Kim and Brandon Stone of Green Forest, Jason Grigg of Metalton, Brittany and Alex Timpe of Bentonville, and Chase and Randi Jo Peyrot of Kingston; five great-grandchildren, Ryne and Ethan Stone of Green Forest, Henry Timpe of Bentonville, and Reagan and Teague Peyrot of Kingston.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 at Brashears Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19, please practice social distancing and masks are required.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Brashears Funeral Home with Larry Mitchell officiating.

Pallbearers will be James Cook, John Cook, Rick Gurley, Brent Gurley, Brandon Stone, Chase Peyrot, and Jason Grigg.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Clark, Bill Horrell, and Troy Cline.

Internment will immediately follow in the Kingston Cemetery with Claud Williams officiating.

Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory, Huntsville.
