Roxie May Cook, 85, of Kingston, Arkansas, died September 12, 2000 at Kingston. She was born October 25, 1914 at Short Cove, Arkansas, the daughter of Pete Seitz and Myrtle May Mitchell Smith. She had retired from the Kingston Public Schools where she was a cook in the food service department. She was a Baptist and had become an avid artist of oil paintings at age 71. She was the widow of Eddie Truman Cook who preceded her in death on May 6, 1963. She was also preceded by two sons, Bobby Ray Cook and Raymond Dwain Cook.
Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Billy Grigg of Kingston; one daughter-in-law, Sharron Cook of Kingston; three grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Gary and Luann Grigg of Metalton, Arkansas, James and Shana Cook of Decatur, Arkansas and John and Brooke Cook of Johnson, Arkansas; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kathy and Nicky Peyrot of Kingston; two great-grandsons, Jason Grigg of Metalton and Chase Peyrot of Kingston and two great-granddaughters, Kimberly Grigg of Metalton and Brittany Peyrot of Kingston.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 15, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Roy I. Cain and Rev. Claud Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be: Gary Grigg, John Cook, James Cook, Nicky Peyrot, Jason Grigg, Chase Peyrot, Gary Bunch and Bill Smith.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
