Robert A. Heinzen, age 87, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Tender Reflections Assisted Living in Manitowoc.

Bob was born on December 9, 1933 in the town of Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Edward and Esther Zimmer Heinzen. Bob attended Lincoln High School and graduated as President of the class of 1951. He then entered the United States Navy serving in the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C. Bob then returned home and continued his education at Marquette University in Milwaukee where he graduated in 1956 with his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering Degree. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where he received his Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1980. Bob was employed at Paragon Electric in Two Rivers for 35 years. He retired in 1991 as Vice President of Engineering. He had eight patents relating to electromechanical time controls. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the church choir for many years. Bob greatly enjoyed singing, sailing, tennis, and spending time with his family. In past years Bob was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a "presider" for the parish. On May 9, 1959 he married Joan C. Brice at Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on July 27, 2021.

He is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Tina) Heinzen, Manitowoc, David (Lisa) Heinzen, Janesville, Dr. James Heinzen and Heather, Reeseville; 17 grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward and Esther Heinzen; wife, Joan Heinzen; son, Steven Heinzen; and his sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Bob Valentine.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral service, a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel with burial of Robert's cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc at a later date
