Funeral services for Mrs. Mary A. Wallace will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Oakdale, with Reverend Michael McIntosh officiating.
Entombment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery Mausoleum, Oakdale, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Ms. Wallace, 92, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, in her residence.
Mary grew up in Homer, LA and attended school there. She graduated from LA Tech with a Degree in Mathematics in 1951. She taught math at Oakdale Junior High School from 1951 until her retirement in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brythal and Nettie Evans; her former husband, Don W. Allen; her husband, Thomas G. "Jerry" Wallace; one brother, Harold "Sandy" Sanders; and one sister, Lillian Grafton.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include one son, Don Allen, and his wife, Maria, of Ruston; two daughters, Jan Evans Allen, and her husband, Bobby Silverman, of Ithaca, New York and Mary Lynn Hicks, and her husband, Terry, of Farmerville, one grandchild, Mary Alexandria Underwood, and her husband, Mark; and one step-grandchild, Greg Hicks.
A time of visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, Oakdale on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
