Kenneth Earl Doll Jr., 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Union Mills, Indiana, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was born August 5, 1944, in LaPorte County, Indiana, to Kenneth Sr. and Irene (Gardner) Doll and graduated from Hanna High School in 1962.
Known by most as "Duke," he grew up in Hanna, Indiana, and was a life-long farmer before moving to Indianapolis the past seven years, where he could be near his daughters and grandchildren. Duke served in the Army Reserves Specialist 4th Class. He was a member of the American Legion Hanna Post 472, where he served as Commander for several years and a member of LaPorte County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and being outdoors. His friendly, laidback, jovial personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
On January 15th, 1972, in East Chicago, IN, Duke married Margaret Lesniak, who survives along with his children, Sara Couch-Haughey (Cam) of Indianapolis, IN, Kenneth (Tara) Doll of Hanna, IN, and Kathleen (Paul) Heiny of Fishers, IN; grandchildren, Ava and Alex Couch, Ethan, Wyatt, and Ella Doll, Dane and Julia Heiny, step-grandchildren, Andrew, Will, and Christian Haughey, and sisters, Carole Welkie, Deanna (Bob) Young, and Jeanene (Rick) DuShane. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Ellen Doll, and brother, John Doll.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1st, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time at Wanatah Funeral Chapel at 309 North Main Street in Wanatah, IN 46390, with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow at Hanna Cemetery in Hanna, IN. Luncheon provided afterward at Hanna Methodist Hall.
