Stella Rose Muncy, age 70, of Newhall, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at her home. These special Bible verses were chosen by her husband- 2 Timothy, Chapter 4, verses 6-8: For I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Born September 8, 1937 at Caretta, she was a daughter of the late Dan Rose and Nonnie Click Rose. She was a member of the Newhall Bible Church. Stella was a special wife, mother, sister, mother in law, sister in law, grandmother, and great grandmother, She loved to quilt, crochet, and can fruits and vegetables from her garden. She loved her dog, Roscoe and her cat, Paw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Hetta Rose, Etta Rose, Roy Rose, Coy Rose, Howard Rose, Clarence Rose, and Helen Rose McClease.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Earl Muncy whom she married December 26, 1957; two daughters, Dana Lockhart, and husband, Jerry and Donna Hicks and husband, Danny all of Newhall; one son, Earl Dwane Muncy of Beckley; five grandchildren, Amber Lockhart Jackson, Zachary Lockhart, Ruby Hicks, Emily Hicks, and Arthur Hicks; two great-grandchildren, Nathan Daniel Hicks, Cadence Lockhart-Jackson; two sisters, Eva Taylor and husband, Todd of Brunswick, Ga. and Alice Prescott and husband, Phil of Tazewell, Va.; two brothers, Raymond Rose and wife, Nelly of Warriormine and James Rose and wife, Nancy of Orange Station, N.C.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Newhall Bible Church, Newhall with Wilmer Muncy officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Pallbearers will be James E. Muncy Sr., Kenny Muncy, Ricky Muncy, Ronnie Holmes, Kenny Mitchell, and Mose Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Buford Boothe, Elmer Muncy, James E. "Boomer" Muncy Jr., Tommy Lee Harman, Raymond Rose, Lawrence Muncy, Lee Graham, James Lewis, Marlon Owens, and Shane Young.
