Evelyn Lee "Evie" (Malone) Summers was born on September 30, 1902 in Rutherford County, Tennessee, the daughter of Bertha (Malone) (Collier) Elder (1885-1963) and her 1st husband John Malone (1883–1936).

She was married to Robert Summers.

Living in Nashville, Evie was 87 years old and a widow when she passed away on December 16, 1989.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and by her daughter Leona M Kittrell, while survivors included her daughter Mrs Beatrice Koyton, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two 2nd-great-grandchildren, sisters Mrs Nettie B Malone, Mrs Margaret Shook and her husband Henry Shook, and Mrs Elizabeth Phillips and her husband Robert Phillips and several nieces nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services were held on December 20th at First Street M B Church, and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashville, with Smith Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
