MARY JANE HILL PERDUE

Mrs. Mary Jane Perdue, 95 died at her home Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 1958 at Brushfork. She was born in 1863, in Ashe County, N.C. and moved to Bramwell in 1870 and to Brushfork in 1895. She married Silas William Perdue who died January 15, 1942. She was the daughter of Hardin H. and Jane Jones Green Hill. She was the the last surviving member of a family of three brothers and one sister: Felix Shelton, Wiley G. and James Frank Hill and Sheba Ann Hill Lovens. She was a member of the Brushfork Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Giles S., Zollie G. and William H. Perdue all of Brushfork and Walter C. Perdue of Tampa, Fl.; four daughters, Mrs. W.R. Russell, and Mrs. John W. Hager both of Brushfork, Mrs. Lewis Hambrick of the Bramwell Road and Mrs. Wallace Hager of Bluefield.; 52 grandchildren, 122 great grandchildren, and 23 great great grandchildren.
The body will be removed from the Wagner Funeral Home to the residence today.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Brushfork Methodist Church with burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: Frank Gibberson, Fred Bailey, Fred Anderson, Ira Lockart, Orvil Sutphin, Roy Whitt, Zed Taylor and Abe George. Flower bears are members of the Ladies Bible Class and the Friendship Class of the Church.
