She was born October 6, 1926, in rural Urich, Mo., the daughter of George Albert Wilson and Della Mae (Little) Wilson. On March 16, 1946, she married Roy Daniel Boyd in Kansas City, Kansas, and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2007.
Lucille graduated from Urich High School in 1944. She taught at Mound School in rural Clinton for one year. She and Roy were both from farming families and they moved to Windsor in 1957 and began their own farm. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Windsor, and had also attended Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Roseland.
Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Paxton, Clinton, Missouri; a son-in-law, Doug Paxton (Betty), Windsor, Mo.; 2 grandsons, Brad Paxton (Angi), Windsor, Mo.; Blayne Paxton, Clinton, Mo.; 2 great-grandsons, Cole and Caden Paxton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Roy, she was preceded in death by a son, Roy Bradley Boyd who was killed in Vietnam on March 29,1969; a brother, Eugene Wilson; and 5 sisters, Retha Montgomery, Nadine Williamson, Evelyn Myers, Alberta Rhodes, and Georgia Swanagon.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Pete Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. Friends may pay their respects and sign the book from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of the funeral home.
