Leona Jean Hofer was born to Shirley and Lee Hofer on October 2, 1962. She passed peacefully on November 30th surrounded by her son Luke, boyfriend Mike, and family members. Leona's husband Bill, mom, dad, brother Bob, and nephew Bobby were waiting in heaven to hold her. Leona is survived by her son Luke, step-son Stephen, boyfriend Mike Green, siblings Sharon (Gary) Koehler, Janet Thornton, Roger (Leslie) Hofer, Gary (Jenny) Hofer, and Susie (Jim) Thrush and her constant companion, Buster Boonie. Leona is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. There will be a private family service for Leona on Dec. 11, 2021 at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Henry. A celebration of life for Leona's friends and family at Hofer's Pub in Henry on December 18t, h at 2 p.m.
Leona loved her son Luke, grandson Dawson, and boyfriend Mike fiercely as she did all her family and close friends. Leona was funny, loving, generous to a fault, and had so many friends for good reason. She loved everything outdoors: beaches, boating, fishing, and working in her yard. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the A.R.K., Animal Shelter in Lacon as a memorial.
