Barbara was born on June 1, 1937 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Orpha Seigworth Wolff. Barbara was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1955. She continued her education at Holy Family Hospital School of Nursing for four years graduating in 1958. Barbara then became employed at Holy Family Hospital for the next 40 years retiring in 1999. On May 2, 1959 she married Clifford "Bob" Ahrens at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Barbara was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She loved to golf, play cards, and have fun with the Red Hatters. She enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Lakewood and wintering at the Villages in Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bob, four children, Timothy (Kym) Ahrens, Manitowoc, Julie (Paul) Tittl, Manitowoc, Nancy Ahrens and her partner Toni Pierce, Manitowoc, Patrick (Rachel) Ahrens, DePere; nine grandchildren, Justin (Kendra) Ahrens, James (Amanda) Staab, Robert (Lauren) Staab, Heidi (Tony) Naber, Jesse Tittl, Courtney (Elliott) Ehlert, Jacob (Jessica) McFarlin, Kimberly (Daniel) Mebenbrink, and Matthew Ahrens; 11 grandchildren, one brother, James (Carol) Wolff, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Wolff, Manitowoc and Maureen Wolff, Villages, FL; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Orpha Wolff and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The visitation will continue on Tuesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Following the funeral service a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
