Born in New Jersey; aged 50y. Had resided in Springfield since 1842.

Death of An Old Citizen - Reuben Coon, an old and much respected citizen, died at his residence in this city, about two o'clock this morning. He had been suffering for a long time past, but was only confined to his bed last week. He bore his sufferings patiently, and firmly, and died in the hope of a blessed immortality beyond the grave.

Mr. Coon had resided in Springfield since 1842, and had always been engaged in active business. He was well and favorably known by our citizens, and leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his loss.

Mr. Reuben Coon was for several years engaged in the leather trade, and the manufacture of boots and shoes. He died, Nov. 7, 1871, and his widow and children reside in Springfield, Illinois.
