Rites for Mrs. Jennie Bainum to Be Conducted Monday Afternoon
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennnie Bainum, 76, of 3701 Mt. Vernon Road, a resident of Wichita 24 years, who died Saturday in a local hospital following a long illness, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Downing mortuary chapel with Rev. T. A. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Highland cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Vernon Dean Maxted, Neal Maxted, Tommy Reed, Wilmer Kinzie, Melvin Metz, and John Chrichton, Jr., all grandsons of Mrs. Bainum.
Mrs. Bainum was born September 23, 1866 in Jasper county, Ind. Several years later she came to Kansas with her parents, and following her marriage to Charles Bainum in 1887 she lived in Alva, Okla.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Zaida Metz, Mrs. Lorena Reed, and Mrs. Thelma Crichton, all of Wichita; Mrs. Audrey Kinzie, Alva; and Mrs. Lera Maxted, Wellington; a son, Charles Evans Bainum, Wichita; and 20 grandchildren.
