Joyce was an EMT for the village of Valders, and she and Bill operated the Valders ambulance from their home for over 30 years, helping grow it to the program it is today. She put her heart and soul into being an EMT for the Valders Ambulance Service and truly loved serving her community. Joyce was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother; she was most proud of her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to talk about her kids' accomplishments. She was an avid Packers and Brewers fan and loved watching sports year-round. She was a giving person with a big heart who enjoyed buying Christmas gifts for her family and always helping others in need. She enjoyed a good supper club and an occasional brandy sour. Joyce was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Valders.
Joyce is survived by her daughter: Judi (Jeff) Hanson of Manitowoc; five sons: William (Chris) Wiegert of New York, Dean (Chris) Wiegert of Port Washington, Robert (Tina) Wiegert of Green Bay, Mark (Laura) Wiegert of Chilton, and Barry (Kim) Wiegert of Green Bay; grandchildren; great grandchildren; sister Virginia Meyer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Veronica Evenson, Margaret Evenson, Marlene Evenson, Judy Evenson, Upton (Marion) Wiegert, Carlene Leonard, Daniel Wiegert, and Curtis Wiegert. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband William; grandson Trevor Behnke; sisters and brothers-in law: Betty and Ted Jeske, Ruby and Clifford Meyer, June and Daniel Meyer; brothers: Dennis Evenson, Marlyn Evenson, Gene Evenson, Donald Evenson, and Roger and wife Doris Evenson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert Meyer, Lester Leonard, Barbara Wiegert, and Connie Wiegert; and nephews and niece: Jay Meyer, Craig Meyer, Wally Evenson, Bruce Jeske, and Donna Wiegert. Private family services to celebrate Joyce's life were held. Joyce was laid to rest at Valders West Cemetery.
