Rose Anna Blecha, youngest daughter of James and Katherine Sibl, was born on a farm near Humboldt, Neb., February 22, 1876, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Milek Fisher near Narka, Kan., at the age of 82 years and 11 days.
She grew to womanhood and received her education in the country school near Humboldt. On October 4, 1898, she was united in marriage to Joseph Blecha. This union was blessed with four children, Lionel, Emilek, Rudolph and Blanche.
They lived on a farm near Humboldt for a year or so then they moved to Kansas where they lived on different farms around Munden. They were confronted with the usual hardships and problems of pioneer life and raising their family.
On September 6, 1919, at the age of 43 years, her husband, Joseph, passed away leaving her to carry on with the help of her children. They remained on this farm for sometime and then moved to a farm west of Cuba.
After the marriage of her last son, she came to live with her daughter near Narka, where she has since made her home. She was a very devoted mother to her family, always thinking of their best interests. She loved to read and do handwork. She was always busy doing something. She endeared herself to everyone who knew her and was tenderly referred to as "Grandma Blecha."
She was a member of the Z.C.B.J Lodge of Munden, receiving her 50 year pin in 1956. She was the last surviving member of her family of two brothers and one sister.
She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Lionel and Rudolph, Cuba and one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Fisher, Narka, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, a host of relatives, friends and neighbors.
