Myrtle Marie Ball, 84 of Hewett, Boone County, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord, Friday, Oct. 24, 2003.

Born Oct, 16, 1919, at Hewett, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillie Akers Aleshire. Mrs. Ball was a homemaker and an active member of the Spencer Chapel United Methodist Church for 55 years.

In additional to her parents, Mrs. Ball was also preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Hubert, and Aaron; and by one sister, Hester.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Ardith Ball of Hewett; son and daughter-in-law, Edward "Bub" and Joyce Ball of Hewett; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Dale Franklin of Burlington, Colo., Iva Blankenship of Aurora, Colo., Nancy Ball of Sulphur, La.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Spencer Chapel United Methodist Church, Hewett with the Rev. Roger McCauley and Earl Akers officiating. Burial will follow at the Ball Cemetery on the Missouri Fork of Hewett.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church.
