Born June 7, 1940, in Hewett, she was the daughter of Ardith Ball of Hewett and the late Myrtle Aleshire Ball. In addition to her mother, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Ball.
Nancy graduated from Scott High School, Madison, where she was crowned Miss Skyhawk in 1959. She was an employee of Westmoreland Coal Company for 18 years and enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was a joy to be around and was loved by everyone.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her longtime companion and best friend, Edward Butterkoffer of Sulphur, La.; sons, Steve Ball and his wife, Amy, of Madison, Ind., and Curtis Ball and companion, Leandra, of Madison, Ind.; the love of her life, Grandson, Jesse; brother, Edward "Bud" Ball and wife, Joyce, of Hewett; sisters, Betty Franklin and husband, Dale, of Burlington, Colo., and Iva Blankenship and companion, Jim Ball, of Aurora, Colo.; nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was loved by all.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Roger McCauley officiating. Burial will follow in the Jim Ball Cemetery, near Ottawa.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
