Edwin P. Kummer Jr., age 80, passed away peacefully at home, holding hands with his loving wife Valetta "Bonnie" (Weber) and his five loving daughters by his side on Friday, March 17, 2017.

He was born on January 18, 1937, son of the late Marie (Londo) and Edwin P. Kummer, Sr., and is survived by his brother Karl (JoAnn) Kummer. He graduated from Helix High School, California in 1955. After returning to Wisconsin, he married the love of his life on June 23, 1956. Together they raised five daughters, Holly (Gordon) Hayes, Karen Kummer (Gary Larson), Connie (Larry) Newman, Elly (Arnold) Bostwick, and Audra (Mark) Gruenewald. Ed lived such a full life and was a master of many trades, but his career love was being the chief of police in Town of Wolf River and Cleveland, WI, where he retired from in 1999. He loved hunting, fishing, bird watching and wintering in Arizona. Ed enjoyed his monthly Rapids grade school get togethers. In addition, he was a proud member of Acacia Shrine, Lions, and was the master of the Antigo Masonic Lodge.

As a man of great faith, he was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Luthern Church in Manitowoc and Arbutus Lutheran Church, Pearson, where he immensely enjoyed singing in the Choirs. Mostly, Ed enjoyed spending time with all of his family members as well as his friends.

In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grand children, whom he also adored. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his sister Darlene (Bill) Bergquist, mother-in-law and father-in-law Lorraine and Frank Weber, five brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law and one great-granddaughter.

In his final weeks he reminded his family to "turn that frown up side down". He will forever be missed but "I'm still here".

Cremation has occurred at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Thursday March 23, 2017 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2601 South 10th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Jim Wilson. A luncheon will be served at the church following the service. Edwin will be laid to rest at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday March 23, 2017 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
