Joan L. (Hemb) Loebbaka, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday evening, October 10, 2022 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. She was 78 years old. Joan was born April 1, 1944 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Frederick and Roma (Seifert) Hemb. She grew up in Kiel, graduating from Kiel High School in 1962. On November 9, 1963 she was united in marriage with Robert Loebbaka at Holy Name Parish in Sheboygan. She worked briefly as a secretary at Kohler Company, before stepping away to raise her children, Kim and Steve. She later returned to work as a secretary at Plastics Engineering Company for over 25 years. Throughout the years, Joan participated in Elk's Lodge activities with Robert. The couple took pride in their large garden, and canning what they grew. She was an avid fan of the Packers, Brewers and Elvis and enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan, deer hunting, Packer bus trips, traveling to NASCAR races and reading. The family will cherish the memories of all the Christmas dinners they shared with Joan. Joan is survived by her children Kim (Jerry) Miley of Sheboygan Falls and Steve Loebbaka (Sandie Meyer) of Sheboygan and grandchildren Rachel Miley (fiancé Jon Galando) and Sarah Miley (Ryan Hommen). She is further survived by her siblings: MarJean (Jerry) Gutschow, Darlene Steffen (Verlyn Voland), Sharilyn (Daniel) Wusterbarth, Randall (Mary) Hemb, Paula (Jim) Haelfrisch and Eric Hemb; brother-in-law Daniel Schaefer; sister-in-law Karen Kromberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents, and siblings: Barbara (John) Mayer, Diana Schaefer and Betty (Robert) Fellner. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6706 Superior Ave. in Kohler. The family will receive visitors at Greenlawn Memorial Park from 1:00-2:00PM. She will be laid to rest beside Robert. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in her name. The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Nicholas Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital ICU for their compassionate care, and a special thanks to Sharon S.
