ALLABY, ANN LOUISE (QUARTERMAIN) - 1940-2022 - The family of Ann Louise Allaby is deeply saddened to announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, at her home in Woodstock, New Brunswick. Ann was born in St. Stephen, NB, on January 19th, 1940, to the late Walter and Marietta (Laubman) Quartermain. In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Allaby, her son, Peter Allaby, brothers, Mansel (Lorna) Quartermain, Allan (Bessie) Quartermain, John (Phyllis) Quartermain, and Beverly Quartermain. Ann is survived by her two sons, Ken Allaby (Jennifer), Greg Allaby (Christine). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew, Deidre (Joel) Everett, Jarika Allaby, Miranda Allaby, Kolten Allaby, Brooklyn Allaby and great-grandchildren Kyla and Alice. Daughter-in-law Krista Bird and sister-in-law Sandra Quartermain, and many nieces and nephews. Ann graduated from the New Brunswick Teacher's College in 1959 and was a teacher and a substitute teacher for many years to follow. She served on the Carleton Memorial Hospital Board and was the president of the New Brunswick chapter of the Canadian Hemophilia Society. Ann enjoyed baking, grocery shopping and eating out at The River restaurant, but spending time with her family was her greatest joy. She was a dear friend to many, devoted her life to family, and was "Nana" to all. Visitation will be at The Culberson Funeral Home, 188 Connell Street, Woodstock, NB on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, December 7th, 2022, at 1 pm from St. Luke's Anglican Church, Woodstock, NB. with Rev. Walter Williams officiating. Interment will be at the St. Stephen Cemetery at a later date. Donations can be made in Ann's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
