Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.
Mrs. Whitaker was born January 30, 1917, in Richland County, the daughter of Urice and Nellie (Whitaker) Kimmel. She married James Randolph Whitaker on July 16, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2007.
She and her husband owned and operated Whitakers Record Shop in Olney. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Olney.
Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her nephews, Melvin Kimmel and his wife, Mary Lou, of Olney, Wayne Kimmel and his wife, Bridget, of Vincennes, Ind., Roger Kimmel and his wife, Kris, of Noble, David Kimmel and his wife, Colleen, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Larry Kimmel; niece, Judy Dobson, of Noble; sister-in-law, Mary Kimmel, of Olney; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Robert and Kenneth.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Youth.
