Nancy Jane Cherry is the daughter of Isaiah Lacy Bennett and Nancy Jane Foster, born in Gentile Valley in 1875, and her siblings called her Janie. She married Charles Stephen Cherry in December 1891, at Franklin Idaho. She and Charles settled in Mapleton where seven children were born. In 1902 they lived in Vernon and then moved to Ora. They homesteaded 80 acres at Sarilda and lived there until 1912. When Charles left the family before Ada was born, Nancy moved to Core's Desert place and in 1916 purchased another place of 160 acres. In 1919 she moved to Drummond where she worked and farmed until 1925. Nancy is the mother of 13 children. Matilda Jane DeWitt; Isaiah Solomon Cherry; Mary Amanda Elliott; Anna Amelia Benson; Charles Wesley Cherry; George Rusher Cherry; Thomas Leonard Cherry; Cora Bell Hill; Florence Leona Kirkham; Oscar Leland Cherry; Ossian Lloyd Cherry; Velma Lucille Siddoway; Ada Clark.
Nancy was always kind and loving and loved by all who knew her. She was ambitious and thrifty. In 1912 Nancy and Charles separated and later divorced.
