R. H. Wilburn, Dayton Veteran, Dies Suddenly
Funeral services for Ross Henry Wilburn, 34, who died of a heart attack in a Dayton cafe, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, were held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Church, Dayton. Rev. Loyd Williams, pastor, officiated.
Graveside services, which were held at Magnolia Park Cemetery, Dayton, were conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars. Pace-Stancil Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Wilburn, who was a barber, entered the Army April 12, 1942. He was discharged January 21, 1946, at Camp Fannin, Tyler, as a corporal of the military police.
Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Mary Wilburn Key, Splendora; two brothers, J. L. of Beeville and Percy Wilburn of Mont Belvieu. Pallbearers were Bob Hilliard, Homer Sims, Floyd Reidland, Glen Barrow, "Doc" Holbrook and Gus Gajdosik.
