Retired miner, Jay Ola Castle, 91, died Tuesday, January 14 in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Castle was born September 9, 1900 in Johnson County, the son of Chilt and Leander Curtis Castle. He was a member of the Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Stambaugh Castle in 1984. Surviving are five daughters; Madge Roberts, Shirley Wiley and Marie Lowe, all of Staffordsville, Mary Arms of Oil Springs, and Betty Borders of Urbana, OH and two brothers, Wayne Castle of Catlettsburg and Lundy Castle of Maryland. Funeral services were held Friday, January 17 in Bryan Fraley & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Blanton officiating. Burial was in Castle Family Cemetery at Staffordsville.
