Hope Irene (Hudson) Vierck, age 95 formerly of Milton, WI passed away peacefully at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, Wisconsin Wednesday August 9, 2023.
Hope was born March 31, 1928 to Robert A. Hudson and Mathilda "Tillie" Zanzinger Hudson in rural Rock County, WI. She graduated from Milton Union High School in 1946. On July 27, 1946 Hope married Clarence A. Vierck. She had resided in or near Milton all of her life until July 2013 when she and Clarence moved to the Wisconsin Veterans' Home at King.
Over the years she worked as a volunteer for the Methodist church, early community papers drives, Meals On Wheels and at the Gathering Place. In the late 1970's Hope worked at the high school in food services, retiring after nine years.
She enjoyed baking pies and breads, knitting hats, mittens and scarfs for school children, crocheting afghans and sending greeting cards, many including jokes to bring smiles or laughter to others.
Hope is survived by her children: Carole, Lorraine, David, Karen, Dawn and Wayne. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clarence (2015), sons Timothy John (1953) and Raymond (2021), in addition to all her siblings and their spouses.
As a family we would like thank the wonderful caring staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King for the care they gave both of our parents over these last ten years. The staff are like our extended family members and we will never forget the kindness and love shown us.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton. Burial will follow at Milton Lawns Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 10 AM until the start of services.
