Jerry Thomas Addington, of Alamogordo, passed away on Saturday, 05 January 2019, at his residence, surrounded by his wife and family. He was 77.

Mr. Addington was born on Tuesday, 29 April 1941, to Eli Jackson Addington and Hazel Dell Brown Addington, in Poolville, Parker County, Texas. He was the sixth of eight children born to this union, and the last Addington child to pass.

He was united in marriage to Jenny Fay Woods on Saturday, 23 November 1957. To their union were born three children: son Jerry Keith Addington, son Kelly Addington, and daughter Kerry Addington.

Jerry grew up in Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico. He married Jenny Fay Woods in 1957 and then moved to Alamogordo in 1968. He worked as an automobile mechanic and then in the construction industry, retiring from Mesa Verde in 2007. Jerry dedicated many years of service to coaching Little League Baseball with the Optimist Baseball League. Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, he had a gentle soul, always had a smile to share and would offer help to anyone in need.

Jerry's family would like to thank Alamogordo Hospice staff for all of their wonderful care and compassion, support and prayers during our time of need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Curtis Eli Addington of Weatherford, Parker County, Texas, brother Elvin Jackson Addington of Alamogordo, Otero County, New Mexico, sister Joyce Marie Addington Flick of Alamogordo, sister Jo Ann Addington Durham of Anthony, Doña Ana County, New Mexico, brother Jimmy Dale Addington of Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, infant brother Terry Don Addington, and infant brother Samuel Hubert Addington.

Jerry is survived by his wife Jenny of the family home, son Jerry Keith Addington and wife Dodie of La Luz, Otero County, New Mexico, daughter Kerry Addington Bolin and husband Mark of Alamogordo, son Kelly Addington and wife Judy of Loveland, Larimer county, Colorado, and special niece Terry Ragland of Alamogordo. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren-Eli Addington, Elaine Addington, Delbert Lucero and his wife Sefora, Adrianna Addington, Kyla Couch and her husband Chris, Tyler Bolin and his wife Nycole, Kyndal Holt and her husband Jason, Jeffrey Addington, Alyssa Arends and her husband Adam, Ashley Wartella and her husband AJ, and Megan Guild, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, 12 January 2019, at 11:00 AM at Mountain View Church, 1900 23rd Street, Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Cremation is being handled through Alamogordo Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home of 2301 East1st Street, Alamogordo, Otero County, New Mexico.
