Hazel Dell Brown Addington, of Wilcox, Cochise County, Arizona, passed away on Monday, 09 May 1966 at Wilcox Municipal Hospital. She was 56.


Mrs. Addington was born on Thursday, 09 December 1909, to Samuel Herford Brown and Sarah Frances Speake Brown, in Parker County, Texas. She was the thirteenth of sixteen children born to this union.


She was united in marriage to Eli Jackson Addington in 1929, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma. Mr. Addington survives Hazel. They were married 37 years. To their union were born eight children: son Curtis Eli Addington, son Elvin Jackson Addington, daughter Joyce Marie Addington, daughter Jo Ann Addington, son Jimmy Dale Addington, son Jerry Thomas Addington, son Terry Don Addington, and son Samuel Hubert Addington.


A native Texan, Mrs. Addington moved to the Wilcox area in 1958. She was a member of the church of Christ.


Mrs. Addington was preceded in death by her parents, step-brother Robert Anderson Brown, infant brother Roy Brown, brother Samuel Fred Brown, sister Callie May Brown, infant sister Carrie Brown, infant brother Harry Brown, infant brother Ollie Brown, brother Virgil Lee Brown, brother Joe L. Brown, infant son Terry Don Addington, and infant son Samuel Hubert Addington.


Hazel is survived by her husband Eli, of the home, son Curtis Eli Addington, son Jimmy Dale Addington, son Jerry Thomas Addington, son Elvin Jackson Addington, daughter Joyce Marie Addington Hurt, daughter Jo Ann Addington Derham, sister Sarah Francis Brown, sister Rosa Alice Brown, sister Bessie Ellen Brown, brother John Thomas Brown, Sr., sister Nellie Jane Brown, sister Elsie Faye Brown, and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.


Interment occurred at Sunset Cemetery of Willcox, Cochise County, Arizona.


Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Westlawn Chapel & Mortuary of 105 South Arizona Avenue, Willcox, Cochise County, Arizona.
