David M. (Jack) Bell, 59, former Clinton city policeman, died in his home near Dewitt. His death followed an extended illness.
He was born in Creek Township, a son of David E. and Mary E. (Reed) Bell, and was married to Cuba Welch, October 2, 1920, at Decatur.
Surviving are his wife; one brother, Frank E. Bell, two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bennett and Mrs. Rebecca Miller.
Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Since leaving the police force a number of years ago, Mr. Bell had been engaged in farming.
He was a member of the American Legion post and the Clinton Christian Church.
