James William Ball (Junior James) was born in Adams Park, Colorado, USA November 24, 1926. Adams Park is now part of the City and County of Denver. James died July 11, 1987 in Denver, Colorado, USA, at 60 years of age. His body was interred July 17, 1987 in Oak Creek, Routt, Colorado.

He married Lois Marie Mathews in Oak Creek, Routt, Colorado, USA, October 17, 1953. Lois was born in Oak Creek, Routt County, Colorado, USA July 11, 1933. Lois was the daughter of John Mathews Jr. and Myrtle Viola Brannick. Lois died May 14, 1981 in Denver, Colorado, USA, at 47 years of age. Her body was interred May 20, 1981 in Oak Creek, Routt County, Colorado, USA. They had two Children.

James was the son of James Austin Ball and Mary Rofay DeJiacomo. James was the second child of six children born to James and Mary. He was preceded in death by two half siblings Elmer and Geraldine Ball. James William Ball's Step-grandfather John "Jack" Loshaw is also interred in the Oak Creek Cemetery.

James had lived in the Routt County towns of Toponas, and Yampa as well as the City and County of Denver. He also had lived at a saw mill located on Gore Pass.

James served in WWII as Seaman Second Class. Sch Tg Comd, at Williamsburg, Va. for 10 Weeks. He served aboard: USS K. Whiting (AV-14); USS Norton Sound (AV-11); USS Curtiss (AV-4).

James owned his own logging truck hauling logs for a Toponas saw mill. In the late 1950's moved to Denver working as a butcher in the Cudahy meat plant. When the cold was too much at the meat plant he went to work at the Robinson Bricks brickyard. He then entered construction framing houses for several companies in the Denver area. The last contractor had him doing back up work fixing messes others created. He tended to be a perfectionist in his construction preferring to do it right the first time. He hated fixing others bad work.

He returned to Routt County in the 1980's. In the fall of 1986 his heart condition made him return to the lower altitude of Denver. Having private health insurance paid for by his son and VA benefits; he still refused hospital treatment for his condition. He passed in 1987 on the anniversary of his late wife's birth.
