Stonebridge Presbyterian Church records, James Bleckley, son of Robert and Grace of Creevlea was baptised March 8, 1832.
James Blakely was 29 when he and his wife Lucinda emigrated from Ireland in 1861, so born about 1832. In the 1871 census, he's 38 (born abt 1833), and in 1881, he's 46 (born abt 1835).
James married neighbor Lucinda Calvin in 1859 at Stonebridge Presbyterian Church, and they had one daughter, Ann, before leaving Ireland in 1861. They arrived at the port of New York on the ship "John Bright" on May 23, 1861. In the passenger list, James was 29, Lucinda was 24, and daughter Ann was an infant.
By the time of the 1871 census, James and Lucinda had settled in Aylmer, Quebec, a town that's now part of the city of Gatineau. They had 8 more children, all born in Quebec.
James was counted with his wife and children in the 1881 census, but in 1891, Lucinda was a widow. A death record hasn't been found for James, but he must have died within that decade. Several of his children as well as his wife Lucinda are interred in Bellevue Cemetery, and a hard-to-decipher Blakely tombstone in that cemetery is almost undoubtedly that of James.
