Henry Eugene was the son of Luther Fenner & Lucy Ann (Bitgood) Fenner. He married Julia McKernan on June 28, 1890 in Monson, MA. Henry Eugene was a boot maker for the Prouty Shoe Company in Spencer, Mass. and had a farm on the Charlton Road. When he died, they shut the plant down so that everyone could attend his funeral.His obituary from the Spencer leader reports that he died of pneumonia, with which he had been ill for some weeks. His death return, filed in Spencer, also names tuberculosis as a contributing cause of death. His obit ends with, "the shopmates of the treeing room at Prouty and CO. factory attended the service in a body."

Henry Eugene left a widow, Julia (McKernan) Fenner, and six children. Services were in the Keith Memorial Chapel, the small red building that is now a maintenance shed.
