Charles "Chuck" Virgil Blankenship, 87, of Winfield, Kansas, went home to his Heavenly home, Thursday, 26 June 2013 at Good Samaritan Society in Winfield.

Chuck was born on 4 February 1926, Belle Plaine, Kansas to Aaron and Dola (WARRINER) Blankenship. He was raised and educated in Belle Plaine.

Chuck married 31 January 1953 to Laura JUNE Hain in Bentonville, Arkansas and made their home in Belle Plaine, Kansas. He was employed at Swift's Ice Cream for 17 years as a driver saleman to mom and pop grocery stores in Kansas. Swift transferred the family to Parson's, Kansas in fall of 1967. Chuck worked for Montgomery Ward. Tony's Pizza of Winfield hired Chuck in November of 1971 and they family moved to Winfield. He retired in the early 1970's.
His wife, June Blankenship preceeded Chuck in death on 26 March 2006, her burial at Belle Plaine Cemetery E 20/4.

Chuck was a member of the Belle Plaine Church of Christ. A member of the Good Sam camping Club. Camping, traveling on trips with family, dancing,pool, and genealogy. He went to family members and they shared pictures together.

His family includes: Sons: C. K. Blankenship and wife of Colorado; D. A. Blankenship and wife of Texas; D. L. Blankenship and wife of Texas. Daughters: S. Rowan of Kansas. J. Davis and husband of Kansas; and S. Blankenship and P. Kelley of Oklahoma. Thirteen grandchildren. Two predeceased grandchildren: Wendy Jean Heath, Belle Plaine Cemetery G-39-3 and Jospeh Dean "Cowboy Joe" Shrader, cremated.

Funeral services 10 A.M., Monday, September 30, 2013, Mile's Funeral Service in Winfield, Kansas. Interment will follow at Belle Plaine Cemetery in Belle Plaine, Kansas. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, September 29, 2013. The family will greet friends during that time.
