Welby Blankenship was the second child of Aaron and Dola Warriner Blankenship.

Martha Roger's Blankenship (1869-1906) died of malignant liver cancer. She was Aaron Blankenship's first wife. Land for the Roger's Cemetery was donated by the Roger's family. So, therefore, it was Rogers-Blankenship cemetery in their mind.

Later, Aaron Blankenship went back to Kentucky, marrying Dola Warriner (1891-1980), marriage date December 5, 1907. According to extended family Dola and Aaron remained living on the Roger's family farm until moving to Belle Plaine, Sumner, Kansas between 1913-1915.
