JEANNINE R. HERZOG

(1929 - 2024)


Jeannine R. Herzog, age 95, a resident of Two Rivers and formerly of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the Meadow View Assisted Living facility in Two Rivers.

 

Jeannine was born on January 12, 1929 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Lillie Hartwig Bruechert. Jeannine was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. 


On May 26, 1951 she married Reinhart E. Herzog at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2003.


She was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Ralph Peterson. 

Jeannine then helped her husband Reine run the Manitowoc Ambulance Service along with the Greyhound Bus Station. 

Her best job was being a homemaker and raising their four children.  Jeannine was a member of the Manitowoc Yacht Club and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing Sheepshead along with following the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers, and college basketball. Her special interest was in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly.

 

She is survived by her four children, Nan (Steve) Oswald, Manitowoc, Chuck (Chris) Herzog, Manitowoc, Mike Herzog, Maribel, and Pat (Holly) Herzog, Sturgeon Bay; 11 grandchildren, Brian (Emily) Herzog, Christopher (Jill) Oswald, Stephanie (Derek) Thomas, Nicholas (Irina) Oswald, Jennifer (Tyler) Frederick, Kelsey (Jordan) Waack, Mackenzie Herzog, Sean-Patrick Oswald, Ben Herzog, Sara (Jared) Muench, and Kelly Herzog and her fiance', John Schneider; 13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.


 She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lillie Bruechert, husband, Reinhart, three sisters, Lillian Schoening, Eleanor Baumann, and Lois Hoge and one brother, Fred Bruechert.

 

Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Matt Colle.


Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 3 p.m.  until the time of services at 5 p.m. Following the funeral service a luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 N. Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel following the funeral service with burial of her cremated remains to be laid to rest next to her husband Reine at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.
