=====
RICHFIELD-Sept. 11, 1895-

Abram Shaw Sr., an aged veteran of Glenwood, passed from this life on the morning of Sept. 1. He has for some time resided with his family on their farm near Glenwood. Early on the morning of Sept. 1 he arose and left the house before any others awoke. As soon as his absence was discovered a search was set up and he was soon found dead about one hundred yards from the house, in a marshy spring in the river bed.

Deceased would have been 87 years old next December consequently was very feeble and unable to extricate himself from the marsh. It being early in the morning he became chilled and this, with over-exertion caused his death.

He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1841 and emigrated from England in 1842, with one of the first Mormon emigrations. He passed through the trials and persecution with the Saints in the states and in 1851 came to Utah and settled in Provo. He lived there until 29 years ago, when he moved to Glenwood and resided there until his death.

He leaves a wife, ten children and forty-two grandchildren to follow his example as a faithful Saint and an honest worker.
