Surviving are, Harry L. Carter and Russell A. Carter, of Seattle, Washington; Norris W. Carter of Spokane, Washington; Carroll L. Carter, Vinita, Okla.; Edward F. Carter of Lincoln; A. Burchard Carter, York, Nebraska; Richard T. Carter, Ashland, Nebraska; and Mrs. Margaret Delaney of Lincoln. Also are twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, two
brothers, Thomas H. and B. Carter, both of Hebron, Nebraska, and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Schaffer of Sidney, Nebraska, and Mrs. Josephine Biggerstaff of Kenniwick, Wash.
During his active years he owned and operated flour mills at Middlebranch, Ashland, Wood River, Beaver City, and Bruning, Nebraska. In each of these places he made many friends that remain to mourn his passing. For nineteen years Mr. Carter had been confined to his bed. The contribution for his happiness and comfort made by his many friends and relatives during these declining years will long be remembered by his family.
