Theo C. "Ted" Bell, age 88, of Rupert, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Countryside Care & Rehab in Rupert.

He was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Oakley, the son of Ephraim Bell and Sylvia Ann (Clark) Bell. He grew up in Oakley, graduating from Oakley High School. He married Eva Jean Perkins on May 4, 1940, in Burley.

Theo joined the Army in 1944 and served in the Pacific for the remainder of World War II as part of the maintenance personnel. He would say that he was the man, behind the man, behind the man with the gun.

He worked at several jobs including tire and sales repair, plumbing, and as a heavy equipment operator. He eventually worked for the city of Heyburn until retirement. T

Theo especially enjoyed fishing and bringing goodies to his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Carol Jean (Chuck) Stuart of Tooele, Utah, Donna Sue (Stephen) Stott of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Fred C. (Laurie Kunau) Bell of Burley; his brothers, Clark Bell of Shelley, Wesley (Virginia) Bell of Kent, Wash., and Warren (Lily) Bell of Burley; 13 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Eva Jean Bell, who died June 10, 2005; and four brothers, George Edward Bell, Ezra Bell, Elwin Bell and Lavern Bell.
