Robert A. Price Sr., 79, of 228 Tinkling Spring Road, Fishersville, died at 2:00 A.M., Monday, July 7, 2008 at his home, after an illness of two years.
He was born June 30, 1929 in Albemarle County, son of the late Richard Luther Price and Anna Kenzer Price.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and retired in 1994 from Acme Visible Records with 42 years of service.
Robert enjoyed keeping his yard and flowers looking nice and playing with his poodle "Prissy'.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Shipp, Annie Bragg and Mary Pritchett; and six brothers, Tom Price, Jim Price, Page Price, Willie Price, Walter Price and Emmet Price.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marie Price; two sons, Robert A. (Bobby) Price Jr. and his wife, Lois, of Manassas and Michael A. (Mike) Price and his wife, Stacy, of Scottsville; and one daughter, Brenda G. Bratton of Verona; 11 grandchildren, Hunter Price, Melandie Hernandez, Christopher Price, Carrie Cortez, James Price, Joshua Price, Brandie Tedder, James Robert Gibson, who lived with his grandparents for 10 years, Tommy Lee Bratton, Christopher Thomas and Katrina Thomas; and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Mormino of Lubbock, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews; one step-son, Randy Fairweather and his wife, Sherrie, of Ft. Worth, Texas; three step-daughters, Valerie Ray and her husband, Ed, of Georgia, Pam Kelly and her husband, Scott, of Stuarts Draft and Linda Mayberry and her husband, Bud, of Stafford; and six step-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held 1pm Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Augusta Memorial Park, conducted by Pastor John Hamric.
Military honors will be rendered by Stuarts Draft VFW Post #9339.
Family and friends are invited to join the funeral procession which will leave the funeral home at 12:30 P.M.
