Obit Newbold - George "Pete" Newbold of Bedford, IN, formerly of Indianapolis and Shoals, IN, and Melbourne, FL, died Sunday, October 8, 2000, at White River Lodge. Born on June 29, 1918, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of Walter and Minnie (Reaves) Newbold. He married his wife, Helen, on December 24, 1972, and she preceded him in death.

Surviving are one daughter, Jeanie Levitt of Indianapolis, IN; one son, Richard Newbold of Indianapolis, IN; three sisters: Viola Nolan of Bedford, IN, Beatriss Muller and Leona Davis, both of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, one sister, and two grandsons.

He had been a masonry contractor and was a member of the Moose, the American Legion, and was a life member of the VFW in Oolitic.

Services for George Newbold will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with Leroy Inman officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens with grave side military rites accorded by member of American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Note: In the obit they mispelled his sister Leona's last name. It is Davids not Davis. They also mispelled his other sister Bea Mueller's name. It is Beatrice Mueller not Beatriss Muller.
