Death: Leona M. Newbold Davids 99, of Indianapolis, passed away May 1, 2006. She was born August 17, 1906 in Indianapolis. She attended Southeast Baptist Tabernacle. Leona worked at Bemis Bag Company for 10 years and later she operated a beauty shop out of her home for several years. Her husband, Dr. Virgil V. Davids; two daughters, Ruth Thompson and Billie Hathaway; three brothers and two sisters all preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Robert L. (Judy) Davids; her sister, Viola Nolan; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4 at G.H. Herrmann Madison Ave. Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
