Mr. Thatcher was born July 11, 1887 in Chillicothe, a son of Alonzo and Laura Deems Thatcher. On April 14, 1910 he was married to the former Blanche Davis, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Stauderman, Mrs. Bernice Deputy, and Mrs. Marian Hutchison; a son, Harold Thatcher; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Caldwell; a brother, Walter Thatcher; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of Chillicothe.
Mr. Thatcher, for 28 years, was Scioto Township clerk and superintendent of the township roads. From 1951-1956, he was employed by the State Highway Department.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Elks Lodge.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Fawcett Oliver Funeral Home, with the Rev. F. W. Knickrehm officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday.
