Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Cecil Berzett, 57, Athens, were 10 a.m. Friday at the Athens City Cemetery, Bro. A.J. Rollings officitaing, McConnell Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Berzett, who died Wednesday, was one of the most highly decorated men from Limestone County to serve in World War II. His citations and awards include the Asiatic Pacific Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Papua and New Guinea Battle Stars, Bismark Archipeligo Battle Star, Southern Philippine Battle Star, Luzon Battle Star, Phillipine Liberation Medal and Battle Star, Presidential Unit Citation, General Order F.E.A.F. No. 1744, Victory Medal, World War II Medal, and the Silver Star (for bravery and conduct beyond the call of duty).
