Melvin L. Moe

Lebanon - Melvin L. Moe, 77, of Lebanon, died Monday at his home.
Mr. Moe was born in Salem, the son of John and Leavy (Berg) Moe. He grew up in the Sweet Home-Brownsville area.
Mr. Moe served in the civilian conservation corps from 1936 until 1938.
He married Luella Wetherell October 27, 1939, in Albany. They moved to Lebanon in 1958.
Mr. Moe started working in the Sweet Home for Santiam Lumber on January 21, 1942, and was employed there until he retired in 1977. He was supervisor of the dry klin and lumber sorting operations for 22 years.
He blonged to the Eagles Lodge in Corvallis.
Surviving are his wife Luella of Lebanon; daughters Beverly Kennel of Albany and Linda Estill of Lebanon; son Gary Moe of Albany; brother Lawrence of DeLand, Fla.; and sisters Vinnie Penn of Eugene, and Hazel Agan of Springfield. Five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter also survive.
Viewing will be from 2 to 8p.m. today at Huston Funeral Home. Mr. Moe's funeral will be at 2p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Shirley Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon's L.O.O.F. Cemetery.
