Richard was the youngest child of James and Permelia Carrier Moe. He was born in Willows,California. By the time he was born his oldest brother had already died in the Civil War. The family moved to Dufer,Wasco County, Oregon when Richard was a boy. As he reached adulthood his widowed mother moved with him to LaCenter, Washington where he met and married Leavy Oliva Berg. They had 9 children. 2 died when they were quite young.
One of the children, Lawrence, is still living at this time (2015)
My grandpa was somewhat of a wanderer and the last wandering trip he took was to Durango,Mexico. He died there a few months later.
